The Great Reset

timeline.png

The world is plunged into darkness by the vengeful goddess Yvonne. Shortly after, humans founded the mighty Church of Light. For 1000 years, they worshipped a hero prophesized to bring back the sun.

OCEAN'S ECHO "Colony C" is a distant coastal stronghold. Without the protection of the Church of Light and it's Cathedral, thralls and corruption are a constant threat. They rely on each others' strength to survive. However, a mercenary called Helena was able to hold her own against the darkness, and was admired by the entire colony. Helena's sister Xaela was the colony "deadweight". Even when she tried her best, she failed, and could never live up to her sister's name. She decided that it was more bearable to make no effort in the first place. However, the sudden revival of an ancient Titan cost Helena her life. Xaela could never come to grips with her sister's death and insisted Helena was still out there. She went as far as to steal a boat to search for Helena and came face-to-face with the ancient serpent, then washed up on the beaches of her hometown. Despite Xaela's mission seeming insane, Sacha and her brother Marlais were willing to hear her out and voyage to find Helena's soul. Reborn as the goddess of the sea, Xaela eventually founded the New Order's combat division and even slayed the Titan that cost her sister's life.

The Unholy Revolution

PERFUME AND ATONEMENT "The Decay" is an illness slowly overtakes the victim's body until they become a lowly, mindless monster called a "thrall". A statue in the Cathedral of Light can stall the effects of The Decay. Since holy light mitigates the effects, the disease was thought to be a sin. However, many people infiltrated the Church's ranks to treat their condition. After Edelmir's best friend Adora contracted Decay, he was outcasted from his family. She cut all ties to bring Adora to the capital. Adora fell in love with Sacha and fled to join the Unholy Revolution, knowing he would die if he left the Capital. Edelmir, believing Sacha killed her friend, became a vindictive anti-rebellion author. Despite her best efforts, she alone was left in the Cathedral of Light. When her loneliness became too hard to bear, she left to join everyone else in the Badlands, and discovered Sacha had cured her friend of The Decay. Edelmir was destroyed by her own guilt and hated by all for her writings. However, Sacha forgave her and offered her a chance to start over. She's resolved to protect the world Sacha and her followers fought so hard to make, and eventually joined the ranks of the New Order.

A heretic named Sacha rejected the doctrine of the Hero, saying humans need to fight the darkness on their own. Fearing her blasphemy would incur the wrath of the gods, she was exiled from the capital. However, her influence continued to grow...

After the Church of Light had been dismantled, Sacha created a new sun using the hope within her followers.

The New Order

THE SINFUL MATCH BOY The Church of Light only protected those who benefitted them. Sein, who had no friends nor family, grew up stealing food to survive. In the Church's eyes, he was better off dead. However, the Church sought power above all else. If he could help them maintain their influence, even if it meant sacrificing others' lives to extend his own, he provided them something much greater than money. On a mission to gather intelligence, he discovered a mysterious building. Rumors told of the lost temple of Minerva, which vanished without a trace. When Sein returned, he was never quite the same. Despite reaching godhood, he remains reclusive and unpredictable. What on earth did he find that day...?

Sacha was quickly appointed as a world leader. She founded an organization called "The New Order". Both humans and gods filled its ranks, and her second-in-command was a human named Marlais.

More and more, Sacha was treated like an all-encompassing deity, slowly losing her very humanity. Her only solace was her bond with her brother, Marlais. But when even he began to see her as a perfect god, her hope shattered. She brought about the world's destruction, just as Yvonne and countless gods had before her.
